Yes. Direct Share exposes an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server at intake.attorneyshare.com/api/mcp/mcp. Add it as a custom connector in Claude (or any MCP-compatible agent), authenticate with your Direct Share API token, and you can ask your assistant in plain English to search the live marketplace — for example, “find me California PI referrals.” It returns matches ranked by fit and recency.

Is the AI agent connection secure, and what can it do?

You stay in control. The connection uses your private Direct Share API token, so treat it like a password. The server exposes read-only tools (search the marketplace, validate your connection) and optional write tools (submit proposals, update case status, create referrals from transcripts). We recommend starting in read-only mode to explore, then enabling write access when you’re ready to let your agent act on your behalf.

What is the Direct Share API?

Direct Share is a REST API that connects your intake systems to Attorney Share’s marketplace. It has two referral-creation endpoints: one that accepts structured data (practice area, jurisdiction, contact info, summary) and one that accepts a raw agent-client transcript and uses AI to extract all the details automatically. Both create a referral posting in seconds.

How does the AI transcript processing work?

POST your intake transcript (minimum 200 characters) to the /referrals/from-transcript endpoint. Our AI reads the conversation, extracts practice area, jurisdiction, contact info, incident date, and a case summary with PII removed, then posts the referral. Fee defaults to 25% but you can override it per call.

What intake sources does it work with?

Anything that can make an HTTP request: AI intake platforms (Capture Now, Lawyer Line AI, Legal Navigator AI, Whippy AI, Lawbrokr AI), call centers, web forms, CRMs, and custom systems. Generate your API key from Account Settings and start posting.

Can I post to specific communities instead of the public marketplace?

Yes. Pass community IDs in your API call and set a duration window (1–96 hours). The referral is visible to that community first. If no one picks it up within the window, it falls back to the public marketplace automatically.

The API is free to connect with unlimited posting. On the Free plan, receiving attorneys pay a flat match fee per signed case. On the Network plan ($999/month), your firm covers all match fees so your partners pay nothing. Best if you’re posting at volume. We never take a percentage of co-counsel fees.
